If you want to start by staying in the thick of the action, Midtown is the undeniable center of Atlanta. To the north of Midtown is Buckhead, a hub of nightlife and luxury and to the south is Olympic Centennial Park, which was built for the 1996 Olympics but now houses three of Atlanta's major tourist attractions: The Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca-Cola, and CNN Center.

If you're wondering which hotel you should choose, the possibilities are endless! Every major hotel chain has made its mark on the Atlanta skyline, but for a unique experience you should try the Omni Atlanta Hotel at the CNN Center. The Omni is located inside of the CNN Headquarters, and room windows look out on the studios where shows are produced and broadcast. Taking a studio tour will be a no-brainer when you're steps away from the action!

Once you're settled, get some fresh air and take a stroll through Piedmont Park, where you can take in breathtaking views of the Atlanta skyline. You won't make it through all 185 acres, but if you make your way past scenic Lake Clara Meer you might find a music festival or concert to listen to on your walk. Don't forget to snap a photo of the skyline, and keep your eyes open for local Atlanta celebrities that frequent the park. If gardens are your style, the Atlanta Botanical Gardens are also located at the park and have a themed garden to suit every taste.

You'll probably need to cool down after an afternoon in the sun at the park. The High Museum of Art, the southeast's hub of contemporary art, is a few minutes away. Take in one of many Friday night events at the museum, from wine tastings to highlights tours. You'll enjoy the building's amazing and unique architecture and see some of the southeast's finest works, for half the price of regular weekday admission! Whenever you're hungry, head over to the Table 1280 restaurant inside the museum for local, farm-to-fork foods.
