"Veep" nabbed Outstanding Comedy Series at Sunday's Emmys, breaking the five-time "Modern Family" winning streak. The celebrated HBO series won for its fourth season. Had "Modern Family" prevailed, it would have topped the record it shares with "Frasier" as the category's most-honored show.
"Veep" also bested "Louie," "Parks and Recreation," "Silicon Valley," "Transparent" and "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt." Simon Blackwell, Armando Iannucci and Tony Roche also won Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series for the episode "Election Night."
