View Full Version : Packet loss leading to disconnects after switching to Telus Fibre

I just recently moved to Telus Fibre from Shaw and ever since the move I’ve been having frequent disconnects from online game services such as Battlenet and Blizzard games. Specifically World of Warcraft and Hearthstone. Following Blizzard’s advice I ran several pathping tests to their servers. What I found is a large amount of packet loss. Below are three of them:

These pathping tests were done over the span of an hour and a half while I talked to Telus tech support. I went through all the steps with the telus technician of rebooting the Modem, the Nokia Fiber box, as well as my machine.

In the pathping output, you can see the IP that is the issue is 207.216.117.193 and when I search online for who owns that IP, several sites tell me that this is a Telus Communications IP address.

http://www.iplookup.online/address/207.216.117.html
https://www.check-my-ip.net/207.216.117.193-ip-address/
https://db-ip.com/207.216.117.193

So I am pretty sure that this IP is part of the Telus network, It is also the 2nd hop right after my modem for all of my network traffic as seen in the various tracert output below.
