Motor Vehicle Collision 1100 block of Memorial Drive NE

On February 23, 2013 at approximately 12:35 am, a 70 year old male was operating a 2007 Chevrolet Uplander van, westbound in the 1100 block of Memorial Drive N.E.
A 27 year old male was operating a 2011 Ford Ranger truck eastbound in the westbound lanes of the 1100 block of Memorial Drive.
These two vehicles collided causing extensive front end damage to both vehicles. The two drivers were wearing their seatbelts and their vehicle airbags deployed at the time of the collision. Both drivers received serious injuries and alcohol was a factor in this collision.
The Traffic Section are investigating and charges are pending against the driver of the Ford Ranger.
