Default Sport injuries

Hi, I'm residing in Burlington. I injured my knee last day. I was playing soccer with my cousins I accidentally tripped over the ball. Even though I attempted to stand and put weight on my knees, I failed. I couldn’t even stand without out someone else's help. My pals took me to a nearest sports injury clinic. I put an ice bag on my legs on the way and this helped to calm the pain. The physician told me that I’m having a minor knee sprain. The physician suggested some anti inflammatory drugs and compression methods to relieve the pain and swelling. The pain and swelling are kind of gone now. But still, I find it pretty difficult to walk and stand. My friend told me that rehabilitation exercise routines would help to reduce stiffness and swelling, Is that true? Please share your wisdom regarding this. what can be done to avoid sports injuries like this from happening again? Will physical activities help to reduce the pain? Should I follow any diet? Please share your views.
