Default Planning to get the root canal treatment

Hi!!
I had my first cavity when I was 15. It wasn’t that hurting, so I didn’t consult a dentist. I continued having chocolates and didn't give proper care to my teeth. But years passed and one day when I was biting something, part of it got stuck in my tooth. It was hurting like hell. Then I remembered that it was that old tooth which I didn’t take care of.
I think the cavity had entered into the inner part of my tooth. I showed it to my mom and she told me that I will have to do root canal treatment and she asked me to take an appointment with the dentist in Brampton ( https://www.dawsondental.ca/our-loca...mpton-dentist/ ). I am afraid that this procedure might hurt. Does it hurt? Is there any other technique? Share your opinions. Thanks.
