Stuck on Internet 6... Need faster internet

I went to buy a house last year just outside the city limits of Calgary. I called Telus to see how fast of internet they could provide and I was told I could get Internet 100. I work from home for a large tech company and need fast internet. Was happy to hear I could get the connection I need and went ahead with the purchase of the house. When we went to get the service hooked up, Telus rep called me back to tell me all we could get was Internet 6. I escalated to a manager and was told that 1. the original rep should not have told me I could get 100MB without checking 2. That while Internet 6 was all I could get now, they would do improvements in the area coming up so that I could get faster connections. It has been over a year and I still am told the fastest I can get is internet 6.

We are really struggling with the low bandwidth. It can take over 24 hours to download some files and while that is happening, my wife cannot do anything on the internet. I use Skype for Business and my calls drop while in mid sentence. We can use Netflix if nothing else is downloading.

We really need help getting faster internet. I have called in several times asking when we will be upgraded and told that they don't see anything in the system. The whole community has signed the Telus Fiber site to try and get answers. Need help!
