Default Office monitoring

Hacking has become a threat far more than most think. A computer and an internet connection is more than enough to hack any system. I have installed CCTV camera surveillance systems with security access control at the office as there are many employees. The main motive of it is to restrict the access to specific areas and to protect the valuables. There are a lot of employees that work in morning and evening shifts. So having access cards help identify impostors and allow authorized employees to come and go without hassle. With the technological advancements, I fear whether the access cards will be hacked. What has to be do in order to prevent the hacking of these cards?
