Default Going out of town...

Howdy, I am here to get some suggestions on home security. We stay in a villa and the area is prone to burglary attacks. I and my hubby are planning to go for a 3-week trip abroad. Since the area is not secure, we would like to add something to ensure the security of our house. Initially, we thought of installing a CCTV or an alarm system. But my hubby says it would be effective only if there is someone to act accordingly.
So after searching for some other options, we came to see the website of a security company which offers the service of a mobile security patrol in Vancouver. I went through their site but I am not sure about them. I think this could be a better option for me as they often visit our premises and notices of any unfamiliar or suspicious things. Are there any other things to be considered? What do you people really do when you are going out of town? It would be of great help if you can help me with some suggestions.
