Default Dental care

Hi, my child used to do ice skating. Last winter, while he was skating, he met with an accident. He collided with his co skater and injured his jaw. He was immediately taken to an emergency dental care in Toronto. He was given first aid and the dentist told that there is a chance of infection. So he told to have root canal treatment and asked to crown it. Since my child was alone, he didn't do it. He didn’t say that to me because he was afraid. But again, last day he was suffering from severe toothache. He told me about the incident that happened last winter. I think that the pain is developing because of the infection. What can I do towards this? Before taking him to the dental clinic, is there any way I can reduce the pain? I am planning to take him to an emergency dental care tomorrow morning. Before that please suggest some ways to reduce the pain.
