Feds want to cut taxi bill by abandoning paper chit payments
The federal government has been criticized for the archaic "paper chit" system it uses to pay for some 3,000 taxi rides its employees take each day. Now Ottawa is asking industry for new solutions, taking a cue from ride-sharing services such as Uber and Lyft that use credit cards and modern tracking-accounting systems.
