Tooth whitening??

Hey!! I am Melissa, residing in Houston. I am planning to book an appointment for tooth whitening in our province. My teeth looks stained and dirty. I am a coffee addict and I think it is the reason for stained teeth. My husband stopped kissing me, because of my stained tooth.
It made me to consider tooth whitening. But I don't know anything about this procedure. Should I take any precautions before doing them? Are there any other risks? How long does the results last? Share your suggestions. Thanks.
