Activating At&t iPhone 5 with Straight Talk Sim

I bought an at&t iPhone 5 from ebay locked to the carrier and it was reset to the activation page. can I cut my current active straight talk sim to nano size to get past the activation screen or does it have to be an official at&t sim? Sorry if this has been asked before I'm new. Thank in...
