Just heard that TELUS is launching a new upgrade program. Basically you pay $9 a month for 12 months, after that time you'll be eligible to trade in for a new one at whatever they'll sell for (presumably $229 with a starting device balance of $490). You'll also need to buy AppleCare+ which costs...
