Screen bulge iPhone 5s

I bought an iPhone 5s from T-Mobile about 2 weeks ago and have babied it ie: in a case, screen protector, no extreme temperatures. Yesterday I noticed what looked like a snowflake pattern on the left side of the screen by the volume rocker. I thought it was the protector and went to change it ....
