Rice farming in Thailand, the world's leading exporter for nearly 30 years, is increasingly done by older people now, as young Thais stay longer in school and gravitate to careers in air-conditioned workplaces in Bangkok. "All they can do with their hands is use a cellphone," said one farmer.
