iPhone 4 ios7 no video mode

My daughter brought her friends iphone 4 to me to see if I could find the video mode. When I go into camera it only shows "photo" and "square",there is no video listed to slide over to. Any ideas? I did verify that it's at ios7.1. Ideas?
