Straight Talk BYOP: Unlocked iPhone 5 data problems

So a few days ago I got a SIM card for straight talk and put it in my unlocked iPhone 5. I can call, text, and use data. The problem is that my data is so slow. It's always on E (Edge), it has never been on 3G/4G, and I can't get good service unless I'm in town. When I'm in town I'll get full bars...
