Smartphone warranty via Bell while no longer a customer

Anyone know how Bell handles warranty for smartphones when the client is no longer a customer? I have been referred back to Bell Mobility by Sony, even though I'm no longer with them. Anyone have any first hand experience or know the policy? I can't seem to find any info online.
