Google play doesnt work over wifi on Nexus S

Today I gave my Nexus S to my wife who doesn't have a data plan but i said no problem downloading apps because I can do it over Wi-Fi at home but the problem is when I try to connect to Google play I get an error message saying "server error retry". I can retry as many time as I want, still no...
