Lifeproof not drop proof?

I took my Dad's Iphone 4 and gave him a galaxy S2. I decieded to use IOS and like it. I was going to upgrade to a iphone 4S. I have had a otterbox on the Iphone 4 since my Dad was given the phone. The phone has lasted and he is really hard on his phones. I just purchased a lifeproof off Ebay...
