Updating question

I have an Iphone 3GS running 5.1.1. I want to update to 6.1.6. Will this mess up my straight talk settings for MMS and such? I want to know if all I have to do is update and things will be running smooth like now or, will I have to jailbreak and redo the cellular data networks settings again?
