Do iPhones have weak radios / antennas?

It seems as though alot of the time with T-Mobile I have a weak signal (compared to when I had AT&T), but I have heard iPhones have weak/bad antennas. Is this true or just a myth? I'm using an iPhone 5 on iOS 8. via the HoFo App
