In Beijing, Tokyo, Seoul and other major capitals across Asia, the early reaction to Representative Paul Ryan's selection as Mitt Romney's running mate was muted on Sunday. One commentator said Mr. Ryan "ticks most boxes" for the Republican candidate, while another said he might restrain Mr. Romney's "potentially disastrous China-bashing."
