iPhone locked to Service Canada?

I made a silly mistake.. Got an iPhone from kijiji ... iPhone 6 Plus. Said to be locked to Rogers. Im trying to activate my Sim... tells me that the sim is not recognized by the server. So I looked up the info on the phone, and its not black listed, but the carrier is Service Canada? :S What...
