President Barack Obama mostly made small talk in his congratulatory phone call to the World Cup champion U.S. women's soccer team. But in a serious moment, he emphasized the big impact that the players have made.
The team has "inspired a whole new generation of young women to make sure that U.S. women's soccer continues to grow," Obama said. "So you guys done good."
The White House tweeted a video of the call on Tuesday.

He also ribbed midfielder Carli Lloyd (http://start.westnet.ca/newstempch.php?article=2015/07/05/carli-lloyd-world-cup_n_7732230.html) for falling short of the four goals she envisioned scoring in a daydream (http://ftw.usatoday.com/2015/07/carli-lloyd-had-a-vision-shed-score-four-goals-in-the-world-cup-final) a few months ago. "But, you know, three's not bad," Obama said.
At the end of the call, the president invited the team to visit the White House.
