For the past two years, comedian Dave Rubin (http://daverubin.tv/) has offered a humorous and irreverent take on current events, popular culture and media as the host of "The Rubin Report (https://www.youtube.com/user/RubinReport)," his Internet-based weekly talk show, which currently has over 82,000 subscribers.

Now the 39-year-old New York native is joining Larry King and Jesse Ventura on the online digital network, Ora TV (http://www.ora.tv). In September, "The Rubin Report (http://www.ora.tv/rubinreport)" will become the network's third political commentary show alongside "PoliticKING with Larry King (http://www.ora.tv/politicking)" and Ventura's "Off The Grid (http://www.ora.tv/offthegrid)," The Wrap first reported (http://www.thewrap.com/dave-rubins-rubin-report-joins-larry-kings-ora-tv-exclusive/) last week. (Check out Rubin and King's "Rubin Report" introduction in the video above.)

Rubin, who collaborated with Ora TV during the 2012 presidential elections, told The Huffington Post that he sees the move as a chance to make his show "bigger and better at every turn" while sticking to its "View"-like panel format of celebrities, comedians and other personalities sounding off on various news stories. The new and improved "Rubin Report," he said, will feature more comedy and less "yelling and noise" compared to its cable news counterparts.

"I want people to feel they can learn a little something without it being painful," Rubin, whose show has featured the likes of Lance Bass (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6TD2_N6SvA) and Roseanne Barr (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NpoDRiG6lM8), told The Huffington Post. "There's just so much out there: the good, the bad and the ugly. We're going to bring it to the audience in a fun, honest way that the networks and even the online platforms are failing to do."

Many viewers will remember Rubin from the online radio program, "The Six Pack (http://sixpackradio.tumblr.com/)," which ran for four years before its final episode in December 2012. That show, which he co-hosted with DJ Ben Harvey (https://twitter.com/djbenharvey), emphasized politics, culture and media trends relevant to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community.

Similarly, LGBT issues have featured prominently (http://start.westnet.ca/newstempch.php?article=2015/03/15/lesbian-star-wars-character-_n_6867102.html) on "The Rubin Report" since its 2013 launch on the Young Turks' YouTube network.

"I'll always cover the stories important to the community, but I really look forward to those stories changing," Rubin said. "What binds us as a group now that we have marriage equality? Gays are every sex, color, religion and ethnicity out there. Are we connected through more than just the fact that we weren't equal in the eyes of the law? I think so, and I want to see how that evolves."

As it turns out, some forthcoming personal news could also impact coverage, with Rubin set to tie the knot with longtime boyfriend David Janet (http://start.westnet.ca/newstempch.php?article=2014/12/23/dave-rubin-david-janet-engaged_n_6374254.html) in August.

"I guess I'll be able to report back to the younger gays if it was all worth it," he quipped. As for the self-professed "Golden Girls" fanatic's dream guest, it's none other than television legend (and LGBT rights advocate (http://www.cbsnews.com/news/betty-white-gay-marriage-should-be-legal/)) Betty White.
