Earlier this week, I came across a great article by Carol Stewart on the 7 Reasons Why Mid Life Women Make Great Employees (https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/7-reasons-why-mid-life-women-make-great-employees-carol), outlining some great reasons why employers should pay more attention to women over 50. 50+ women aren’t just overlooked for many roles they’d be great for - they're actually 25 times less likely to be offered a job interview compared to women half their age.
Not only is this blatant age discrimination but it’s also contributing to the crippling skills shortage affecting all industries at the moment. As a CEO working closely with a number of incredibly talented 50+ women, I know all too well about all of the skills that women over 50 can offer to employers. Here are my top reasons why midlife women make great employees:
