Fresh off his recently released full length album, Transgressionzz, out May 5, 2015, Rap artist Akillezz is back with a vengeance. His latest single, Circus, a collaboration with Tony Yayo (G-Unit), is bringing an aggressive hard-hitting record to the surface.
The hard work spent in the studio for the past few months and his dedication to this lyrical craft bleeds through every cleverly crafted line mirrored by core shaking beats. Akillezz took time from recording to talk with me a bit about his new creative space and the inspiration behind his new single, Circus.
The creation of Circus came very organically with just a simple instrumental that mirrored the G-Unit sound. From that simple start began the process which grew to be a natural collaboration between Akillezz and Tony Yayo. Akillezz had been working with the instrumental and provided Tony with a first and third verse. Tony responded with his own interpretation, a gritty look at the city streets from Tony's eyes. The energy and lyrical connections were so well matched that the rest is what is now known as Circus.

Transitioning into a new creative space than when Transgressionzz was recorded, Akillezz is enjoying the freedom of being less format conscience while recording his new music. In his last album, he felt it really leant it's self to the radio and commercial playability, but right now in his new music, he is really trying to break whatever approach he found had worked on Transgressionzz. He really enjoys pushing his own creative boundaries and breaking lyrical rules to create the next new sound.
Breaking form in his newest single Circus, you'll notice his break from the set of sixteen bars while diversifying the expectancy of going through a verse to a chorus. He's changing dynamics and formatting of songs themselves with his musical exploration and is bringing a heavier and more edgy, aggressive sound to the public.
The change in sound, while going off in a different direction from Transgressionzz, has proven that Akillezz is only getting better with each new release. He still remains uncompromising lyrically and with his added growth and maturity from his tireless efforts in the studio, Circus is set to take on the world.
Reaching out to his fans and followers, Akillezz plays an active role in responding to as many tweets, Facebook posts or emails he may receive. The growing numbers of views on Youtube and listens on Soundcloud are climbing by the day and he enjoys the opportunity to connect with his fans on such a personal level. He even has plans in the future to work through social media to help create his next music video so stay tuned!
What's on the horizon for Akillezz? With Circus having been released this past Thursday, November 19th, 2015, Akillezz is looking forward to a lot more writing and even a bit of touring. Having been invited to join the South by Southwest Music Festival in March 2016, Akillezz is busy in the studio polishing off new singles to showcase along with his first full length album, Transgressionzz. Until then, he is focusing on connecting with fellow artists that are in line with his current creative state and making sure he gets his sounds out for the world to hear. Be sure to look for Akillezz out on tour with SXSW in 2016, and in the mean time you can learn more about Akillezz on the sites below!
