First Draft: Obama’s Final State of the Union Is Set for Weeks Before Primary Season Begins

President Obama will deliver his final State of the Union address on Jan. 12, an early date for the annual speech, but one the White House recommended in part to get out of the way of the presidential primary season starting Feb. 1.
