Elon Musk's Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (http://www.spacex.com/), or SpaceX, plans to attempt another launch and landing of a Falcon 9 rocket on Thursday night.
The approximately 90-minute launch window is scheduled to open at 6:46 p.m. ET. Watch the live stream below:
The main goal of the launch from Cape Canaveral, Florida, is to deliver a commercial communications satellite called SES-9 (http://www.spacex.com/sites/spacex/files/spacex_ses9_press_kit_final.pdf)into orbit for the company SES (http://www.ses.com/4232583/en). A secondary objective is to land the 14-story rocket booster upright (http://www.spacex.com/sites/spacex/files/spacex_ses9_press_kit_final.pdf) on a floating, football field-sized drone ship named Of Course I Still Love You.
However, the company says "a successful landing is not expected (http://www.spacex.com/sites/spacex/files/spacex_ses9_press_kit_final.pdf)," and predicts its fourth at-sea landing attempt will end much like the previous three: in flames (http://start.westnet.ca/newstempch.php?article=2015/04/13/watch-spacex-launch-rocket-landing_n_7055812.html).
