Today's meditation features a composition by Chinese Buddhist poet Li Po (http://www.poetryfoundation.org/poem/178453), called “Zazen on Ching-t’ing Mountain,” translated by Sam Hamill from Crossing the Yellow River: Three Hundred Poems from the Chinese. This beautiful and short piece reminds us of the ephemeral nature of life.

The birds have vanished down the sky.
Now the last cloud drains away.
We sit together, the mountain and me,
until only the mountain remains.
