Starbucks has launched a bee-autiful new limited-edition spring drink called the Caramelized Honey Latte (https://news.starbucks.com/news/starbucks-caramelized-honey-latte).

The beverage -- which is basically just espresso, milk and a sticky-sweet honey sauce -- looks delicious indeed. But what's this puppy doing to your body?

The latte's "Caramelized Honey Sauce" includes sugar, heavy cream, honey and butter, a Starbucks spokesperson told HuffPost. The drink is topped with a "honey-sugar crumble" whose main ingredient is -- you guessed it -- sugar.

Don't get us wrong: We adore a good coffee drink indulgence. But just so you know, this one will likely max out your added sugar (http://start.westnet.ca/newstempch.php?article=entry/how-to-cut-down-on-added-sugar-in-your-life_us_56e703b3e4b065e2e3d6c5be) intake for the entire day, and possibly even beyond that.

The FDA recommends we limit our intake to about 50 grams of added sugar a day on top of what's naturally found in the foods we eat (http://start.westnet.ca/newstempch.php?article=entry/fda-added-sugar-guidelines-50-grams_us_5643ccdee4b060377347ae9a). Just one tall Caramelized Honey Latte has 35 grams of sugar ... and that's without the whipped cream.

Let's be real: You're probably going to order a grande, and you may fall for the fluffy white stuff. This means your drink could set you over the limit for daily added sugar, all before arriving at the office.

Pesky beverages account for almost half of the added sugars we consume (http://health.gov/dietaryguidelines/2015/guidelines/chapter-2/a-closer-look-at-current-intakes-and-recommended-shifts/#figure-2-9), the FDA has found. Want to avoid this sticky trap? The (sad) answer is that you should just use less sugar (http://start.westnet.ca/newstempch.php?article=2014/05/19/healthy-sugar-sugars_n_5315969.html). And don't be fooled: Honey has the same effect on your body as regular sugar (http://start.westnet.ca/newstempch.php?article=2014/05/19/healthy-sugar-sugars_n_5315969.html), or corn syrup (http://start.westnet.ca/newstempch.php?article=entry/honey-corn-syrup-study_us_55f6ec66e4b042295e36e9b4) for that matter.

Of course, Starbucks customers can always ask for fewer pumps of syrup in their drinks, the spokesperson told HuffPost. This would significantly lessen the sugar content, and we'd recommend trying it out ... or adding a good ol' honey drizzle yourself instead.

Have a bee-utiful spring, coffee lovers!
