There are many crafty ways to celebrate Easter: Easter eggs (http://start.westnet.ca/newstempch.php?article=2014/04/14/easter-egg-projects_n_4823579.html), Easter baking (http://start.westnet.ca/newstempch.php?article=2012/03/19/easter-breads_n_1362944.html), Easter garlands (http://start.westnet.ca/newstempch.php?article=2015/03/25/easy-easter-crafts_n_6934710.html)...

But THIS may be the most tree-lightful tradition we've seen yet. Behold, the Easter tree:

Apparently, the Easter tree concept is nothing new. Search for Easter trees (https://www.pinterest.com/search/pins/?q=easter%20tree&rs=typed&0=easter%7Ctyped&1=tree% 7Ctyped) on Pinterest, and you'll find all sorts of bedazzled faux foliage decorated with garlands, ribbon, ornaments, plastic eggs, fake flowers and stuffed creatures (http://debbie-dabble.blogspot.com/2016/03/easter-tree-in-living-room-2016.html) of various springtime orientations.

Some families choose to put gifts under the tree, or perhaps empty Easter baskets for the Easter Bunny to fill. Others leave it as a festive reminder that tree crafting knows no seasonal bounds...

In case you were wondering, people decorate Fourth of July trees (https://www.pinterest.com/search/pins/?q=fourth%20of%20july%20tree&rs=typed&0=fourth%7Ct yped&1=of%7Ctyped&2=july%7Ctyped&3=tree%7Ctyped&re move_refine=tree%7Ctyped) and Halloween trees (https://www.pinterest.com/search/pins/?q=halloween%20tree&rs=typed&0=halloween%7Ctyped&1 =tree%7Ctyped), too.

Most Easter trees start with an artificial white tree (http://www.amazon.com/National-Tree-Willow-Glitter-WOGW1-304-75/dp/B002Y1N8M0/ref=sr_1_9?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1458655296&sr=1-9&keywords=white+tree) and some plastic eggs. Or you can try Martha Stewart's toned-down version (http://www.marthastewart.com/272734/easter-egg-tree) by arranging classy branches in a vase with real eggshells.

Either way, an Easter tree is a great DIY craft to remind your kids -- and yourself -- that every day is one to be celebrated.

Hoppy Easter!
