Volume buttons not responding on iPhone 6 cracked screen

Ok I bought a cracked screen iPhone 6 off ebay the LCD is still good the mute button works on off button works and the home button works but when I push the volume buttons up and down nothing the ESN is clear but haven't activated it yet had to go to work once I put my stuff on it and its activated...
