iPhone 6s from Apple Store

I am a long time SERO customer so I have always gotten my phones through Sprint with a 2 yr contract renewal. I am wondering what would be the advantage/disadvantage of purchasing an iPhone 6s directly at the Apple Store vs through Sprint again?
