iCloud backup ?

So I restored my phone from iCloud backup and now my battery is draining really bad. It's almost 3 years old so it may need a new battery. It's an iPhone 5s. My question is could it be the backup that's causing the battery drain or is it more then likely the battery. My worst case I have my photos...
