Unlocking an HTC One M8

I have a locked Rogers HTC One. WE travel in Mexico and would like to install a Telcel SIM. I thought my phone was unlocked but we tried a SIM and the phone is locked. Can it damage the phone? Will I just be able to swap the SIMS at any time? Is there a good service to use for the unlocking/ ...
