My Dad died Oct 5, 2016 & I immediately cancelled his land line with Telus. They did manage to get my name & mailing address on his acct. So then a month later I got a phone bill for $31.00 for my Dad's phone. I called again. They said for some reason it didn't get cancelled, so they would backdate it. Then a month later I get a another bill with a credit owing, so I assumed all was well & a cheque would be forthcoming. Then a month later I get another bill with a credit owing to me. So I called them a THIRD time (4 months now....) & they said it was because they had forwarded his line to me (I never asked for this). He was 90, all of his friends are dead, he hardly got any calls. So now they have apparently cancelled the acct (finally) & will send a refund (made payable to him of course). Have you ever gone through dealing with an estate of a loved one? First, the heavy grief. And while grieving, trying to get all their belongings, bank accts, cars, residences, taxes, investments & service accts cancelled & dealt with. No easy task! In the end, you just want it to all be done & over with. Every single bank & service acct I dealt with, had to have multiple calls due to screw-ups, & Telus was no exception. And it isn't over yet (we'll see if I get that cheque next month). I've always had good service from Telus in the past ------ but this---- is so, so, so, very frustrating & keeps me from moving on & putting the grief behind me. I get dragged back into these conversations about the acct & about my Dad. Make it end!
