Length of Telus contract = 3 years
Time until free laptop almost unusable= 3 years, 1 week

How does HP do it?
Story: I got my free laptop when I signed up for Telus Fibre. It was a HP 15-g021ca. It felt cheap. But it got the job done. Then after about two years I noticed that the plastic case covering the exhaust fan had cracked. So then I knew it WAS cheap plastic.
Now my left mouse button on the trackpad is broken. It is getting to the point where it sticks and so the trackpad becomes unusable.

But, I can't complain, it was free with Telus Fibre which to be honest was worth every penny, very reliable and good value considering what the competition was offering. Looks like I'm in the market for a new laptop... one thing thought it won't be HP.
