Not really a Telus issue, (but perhaps could be if I try to connect to my T3200M modem instead of my own router) but I thought I'd try here to pick some brains of some people smarter than me on this form. I have a Western Digital 8TB External Hard Drive. I have a TP-Link AC3200 router. I am trying to connect my external hard drive to my router but it keeps disconnecting (eventually over a few hour period or more). I set up my Plex account to use the external hard drive this way, iTunes as well, and of course my iMac. I have tried to connect the hard drive to both the USB to the 3.0 and 2.0 port. Both same issue. Is there something I need to do to keep this connection stable? Or is there something with having an external hard drive connected to a router making it not work properly. On that note, will it work instead with Telus equipment?

Here are my actual products.
WD 8TB Hard Drive: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B01LQQHLGC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Tp-Link Router: https://www.amazon.ca/TP-Link-Tri-Band-Beamforming-Archer-C3200/dp/B00YY3XSSA

Any help would be appreciated!
