Old Battery and a New Battery Options?

I own an iPhone5s, had it for a year or so, but been noticing recently, that the battery isn't holding a charge that well. It will charge to 100% then I will take it off the chord, use it for a few minutes and it will say it is down to 50%. Does this mean my battery is no good, should I go ahead...
