Fibre Optik equipment in garage?

Hi! We had a technician come to bring Fibre Optik into our home. He said he would have to run a wire along the exterior of our house then drill into bedroom wall so he can access power, then install the equipment on bedroom wall beside our bed. After he left I wondered if perhaps the equipment could be installed in our garage instead. Does anyone else have theirs in the garage?
