Killarney is a great choice! We've been here for 3 years. The walkability is good, tons of local shops, and the community association is really active.
I keep an eye on CalgaryPrices to track how the market is doing. Good for getting a pulse on where things are heading.

I'd recommend driving through University District at different times of day before you commit. Traffic patterns and noise levels can vary a lot between morning and evening.
Cheers!

Just a heads up about Beltline - the new development is bringing in a lot of traffic. Still a great area but something to consider if you're on the main roads.

FWIW, i think people don't give Calgary enough credit. Coming from Toronto, the quality of life here is way better for the money. Plus no PST!
Cheers!

Just bought in Mission and I'm blown away by how friendly the neighbors are. Within the first week, three different families came by to introduce themselves.
Hope that helps.

If you're looking for value, the NE communities like Taradale and Martindale are actually really nice and way more affordable. Don't let the stereotypes fool you.

If walkability is your priority, you really can't beat the inner city neighborhoods like Kensington, Beltline, or Mission. Everything you need is within walking distance.
I looked at both Rangeview and Sunalta before settling on Legacy. The school district was the deciding factor for us. No regrets at all.
Cheers!

We moved from Kensington to Sunalta last year and it was the best decision. Quieter, more green space, and our property taxes are actually lower.

We're in Forest Lawn and honestly the only downside is the commute to downtown. But if you work from home or work in the south, it's absolutely perfect.
Hope that helps.

We moved from Hawkwood to West Springs last year and it was the best decision.
Been in Hawkwood for over a decade. It's changed a lot but still has that small community feel which I love. Saturday mornings at the farmer's market are the best.
