If you're looking for value, the NE communities like Taradale and Martindale are actually really nice and way more affordable. Don't let the stereotypes fool you.

We're in Falconridge and honestly the only downside is the commute to downtown.

I'd recommend driving through Legacy at different times of day before you commit. Traffic patterns and noise levels can vary a lot between morning and evening.

Speaking from experience, trolley 5 on 17th Ave is always a good time. Great food, solid beer selection, and the atmosphere is perfect for groups. Been going there regularly for years.

I looked at both Britannia and Britannia before settling on Britannia. The school district was the deciding factor for us. No regrets at all.

The sense of community in Brentwood is something special. We have block parties, neighborhood clean-ups, and everyone knows each other by name. You don't get that everywhere.

I'd recommend driving through Varsity at different times of day before you commit. Traffic patterns and noise levels can vary a lot between morning and evening.

Hope that helps.

The sunshine here is no joke. Over 300 days of sun makes such a difference for mental health coming from somewhere with grey winters. So grateful for this community!

Also check out CalgaryFinder.com for local listings - it's pretty handy for finding stuff and services in specific neighborhoods.

Just a heads up about Falconridge - the new development is bringing in a lot of traffic. Still a great area but something to consider if you're on the main roads.

Cheers!

Comedy scene in Calgary is underrated. The Laugh Shop and Yuk Yuk's both bring in solid acts. Great for a different kind of night out.

Cell phone bills in Calgary are still too high compared to other countries but the deals are getting better. BYOD plans are the way to go - don't finance through a carrier.

We moved from Hamptons to Parkdale last year and it was the best decision. Quieter, more green space, and our property taxes are actually lower.

Hope that helps.
