Love seeing all the new independent businesses popping up in Inglewood and Kensington. Support local! These are the places that give Calgary its character. Hope that helps!
Hope that helps.
CalgaryFinder has been my go-to for finding local services. Found our current plumber through there and he's been excellent.

Sports-wise, calgary Expo keeps getting bigger every year. The cosplay talent in this city is absolutely insane. Such a fun community event.

If you need a physiotherapist in Calgary, I can't recommend Innovation Physical Therapy enough. They actually take the time to understand your issue and create a proper treatment plan.
Hope that helps.

I've been running the Bow River pathway for years and it never gets old. The stretch from Edworthy to Prince's Island is perfect for a 10K. Beautiful any season.

The new Central Library is architecturally stunning. If you haven't visited, go. It's one of the most beautiful public buildings in Canada.

Heritage Park is one of Calgary's best attractions and it's right in our backyard. Great for families, couples, or just a chill afternoon exploring history.

Just did a refinance on our Calgary home and the process was actually really smooth. Rates are better than I expected. Shopped around using a broker. Hope that helps!

Anyone else notice how much better the restaurant scene in Calgary has gotten? Like we're legitimately competing with Vancouver and Montreal now on the food front.

Hot take: the Flames prospect pipeline is actually looking really strong right now. Give it 2-3 years and this team is going to be a serious contender. Go Flames!
Good luck!

For anyone looking at new builds - visit the site at different times and weather. Some areas flood in spring, some have awful drainage. Ask the neighbors, they'll tell you everything the builder won't.

Pro tip for winter driving in Calgary: slow down on the overpasses. They ice up way before the regular road surface. I see accidents on the Deerfoot overpasses every single winter.
Cheers!

We're in Willow Park and honestly the only downside is the commute to downtown.
On a related note with the Flames, if you're looking for value, the NE communities like Taradale and Martindale are actually really nice and way more affordable. Don't let the stereotypes fool you.

FWIW, i think people don't give Calgary enough credit. Coming from Toronto, the quality of life here is way better for the money. Plus no PST!

Respectfully disagree here. i'd recommend talking to at least 3 different mortgage brokers. The rate difference between them can be significant and it adds up over 25 years.

Hey, for anyone looking for a great meal that won't break the bank, check out the lunch specials at River Cafe. Same amazing food as dinner but at a fraction of the cost. tbh

Flames need to shore up their defensive depth before the deadline. The top pair is solid but the 3rd pair has been getting exposed lately.
Good luck!

Just got Starlink set up at our acreage outside Calgary.
Speaking from experience, tELUS fibre is the best internet I've had in Calgary. The speeds are consistent and I rarely have outages. Worth the switch from Shaw/Rogers if it's available in your area.

Just bought in Sunalta and I'm blown away by how friendly the neighbors are. Within the first week, three different families came by to introduce themselves.
Good luck!

Hey, welcome! I was new here a while back too. Best advice: check out the Calgary Communities section for neighborhood-specific info. People share great local knowledge.

Condo owners in Calgary - just be careful with special assessments. Read the reserve fund study before buying. Learned that lesson the hard way.
Cheers!

New bike lanes keep popping up and honestly, as someone who cycles to work, they're amazing. Calgary is becoming much more bike-friendly.

Hot take: Calgary's food scene is actually better than Vancouver's now. We have incredible diversity and the quality across the board has gone up massively in the last few years.
