On a related note with the Flames, just a heads up about St Andrews Heights - the new development is bringing in a lot of traffic. Still a great area but something to consider if you're on the main roads.
Cheers!
I keep an eye on CalgaryPrices to track how the market is doing. Good for getting a pulse on where things are heading.

If you're in tech and considering Calgary - the talent competition isn't as fierce as Toronto but the salaries are competitive and your money goes WAY further here.
Also worth mentioning: just moved to Signal Hill and can confirm this. The neighborhood is fantastic, especially the access to Glenbow Museum. Highly recommend for anyone considering it.
Good luck!

The Ring Road (Stoney Trail) completion was a game changer for getting around Calgary. Remember when you had to go through Deerfoot for everything?
Good luck!

Nice to have you! The dining section has great restaurant recommendations and the auto talk forum is helpful if you need advice on winter driving. Enjoy Calgary!

For what it's worth - alberta Health Services wait times can be long but the quality of care in Calgary hospitals is actually really good. I've had great experiences at Foothills and South Health Campus.

For mental health, the Calgary Counselling Centre has a sliding scale fee structure. They were incredibly helpful when I was going through a tough time.
On the other hand, lOL this thread got real fast. But seriously, valid points all around. Calgary is what you make of it.
Would love to hear other perspectives on this.

The public swimming pools in Calgary are awesome. Village Square and Southland both have great facilities and the lane swim times work for early mornings.

The live music scene in Calgary is alive and well. Broken City, Palomino, and the King Eddy all have great acts regularly. Support local musicians!

If you're looking at buying near the future Green Line stations, I'd say that's a smart long-term investment. The property values along existing C-Train lines went up significantly. Hope that helps!
Cheers!

AWD is nice for Calgary winters but honestly good winter tires on a front-wheel drive car will outperform all-seasons on an AWD every single time. Don't skip the tires thinking AWD will save you.

If walkability is your priority, you really can't beat the inner city neighborhoods like Kensington, Beltline, or Mission. Everything you need is within walking distance. Thank you all!!
Cheers!
