I'd recommend driving through University District at different times of day before you commit. Traffic patterns and noise levels can vary a lot between morning and evening.

Hot take: the Flames prospect pipeline is actually looking really strong right now.

Flames need to shore up their defensive depth before the deadline. The top pair is solid but the 3rd pair has been getting exposed lately.

Cheers!

I think people don't give Calgary enough credit. Coming from Toronto, the quality of life here is way better for the money. Plus no PST!

We bought our place in Shawnessy back in 2020 and the value has gone up about 25% since then. Calgary real estate has been solid for us. I keep an eye on things through CalgaryPrices for the market trends.

Evanston is a great choice! We've been here for 3 years. The walkability is good, tons of local shops, and the community association is really active.

If you're looking for a gym that's not packed 24/7, try some of the smaller independent places outside of the core. The prices are often better and the equipment is just as good.

We're in Currie Barracks and honestly the only downside is the commute to downtown. But if you work from home or work in the south, it's absolutely perfect.

For a chill night out, Kensington has great options. Grab dinner at one of the restaurants and then hit up a pub for drinks. Way more relaxed than the 17th Ave chaos.

Pro tip for winter driving in Calgary: slow down on the overpasses. They ice up way before the regular road surface. I see accidents on the Deerfoot overpasses every single winter. no cap

For anyone looking for a great meal that won't break the bank, check out the lunch specials at Nha Trang. Same amazing food as dinner but at a fraction of the cost. Hope that helps!

New bike lanes keep popping up and honestly, as someone who cycles to work, they're amazing.

University District is becoming a really cool neighborhood. The new shops and restaurants there give it a trendy village feel. Worth checking out.

Hope that helps.

I looked at both Cranston and Ranchlands before settling on Currie Barracks.

For families with young kids, Coral Springs is hard to beat. Great playgrounds, safe streets, and the school is within walking distance for most residents.

Cheers!
