So excited about this - My EV handles Calgary winters surprisingly well. The range drops about 30% in -20 but I charge at home overnight so it's not an issue for my daily commute. Zero regrets. :D

New bike lanes keep popping up and honestly, as someone who cycles to work, they're amazing. Calgary is becoming much more bike-friendly.

Catch Oyster Bar is absolutely incredible. We went last weekend and the food was outstanding. If you haven't been, put it on your list. Best Filipino in Calgary by far.

The Calgary Zoo in winter is actually beautiful. Less crowded, the animals are more active in the cold, and the Zoolights are magical.

Hey, welcome! I was new here a while back too. Best advice: check out the Calgary Communities section for neighborhood-specific info. People share great local knowledge.
Good luck!

Just saw an amazing show at the Jack Singer Concert Hall. Calgary's arts scene doesn't get enough credit. The Calgary Philharmonic is world class.

From a family perspective, new developments in the south end are incredible. Forest Lawn and surrounding areas are growing fast. Great options for families looking for new builds.

Took the family to Cold Garden this weekend. Kids loved it, great portions, and the bill didn't make me cry. That's a win in my books.

If you want authentic Vietnamese, head to the NE along International Avenue. Leopold's Tavern is our go-to but there are honestly like 20 great spots within a few blocks.

Take this with a grain of salt but if you're in tech and considering Calgary - the talent competition isn't as fierce as Toronto but the salaries are competitive and your money goes WAY further here.

Anyone else going to the game Saturday? I've got an extra ticket - section 212. PM me if you want it.
Cheers!

Respectfully disagree here. for anyone looking at new builds - visit the site at different times and weather. Some areas flood in spring, some have awful drainage. Ask the neighbors, they'll tell you everything the builder won't.

I drive from Shawnessy to downtown every day. The trick is leaving before 7:15 AM or after 9:00 AM. That 30-minute window makes a massive difference in commute time.

From my experience, nice to have you! The dining section has great restaurant recommendations and the auto talk forum is helpful if you need advice on winter driving. Enjoy Calgary! Hope that helps!

Great to see another Calgarian joining! If you need help finding local services, CalgaryFinder is also a great resource for local listings and classifieds.
Welcome aboard! If you just moved to Calgary, definitely explore the different neighborhoods when you get a chance. Each one has its own personality. You'll find your spot!
