If walkability is your priority, you really can't beat the inner city neighborhoods like Kensington, Beltline, or Mission. Everything you need is within walking distance.
We're in Chaparral and honestly the only downside is the commute to downtown. But if you work from home or work in the south, it's absolutely perfect.

If you're looking for value, the NE communities like Taradale and Martindale are actually really nice and way more affordable. Don't let the stereotypes fool you.
Just a heads up about Sundance - the new development is bringing in a lot of traffic. Still a great area but something to consider if you're on the main roads.

For families with young kids, West Springs is hard to beat. Great playgrounds, safe streets, and the school is within walking distance for most residents.
Also worth mentioning: this thread is gold. Saving it for when my friends from back east ask me about Calgary. Pretty much covers everything.
Cheers!

If walkability is your priority, you really can't beat the inner city neighborhoods like Kensington, Beltline, or Mission. Everything you need is within walking distance.
Hope that helps.

Man, my recommendation: spend a weekend in Acadia before buying. Walk around, check out the local shops, talk to people. You'll get a feel for whether it's your vibe pretty quickly.

Just a heads up about Ranchlands - the new development is bringing in a lot of traffic. Still a great area but something to consider if you're on the main roads.

My recommendation: spend a weekend in Cornerstone before buying.
Sports-wise, just bought in Rangeview and I'm blown away by how friendly the neighbors are. Within the first week, three different families came by to introduce themselves.
Good luck!
CalgaryFinder has been my go-to for finding local services. Found our current plumber through there and he's been excellent.

Loving Calgary so far! Just a heads up about New Brighton - the new development is bringing in a lot of traffic. Still a great area but something to consider if you're on the main roads. Can't wait!
Hope that helps.

I looked at both Ramsay and Charleswood before settling on Lynnwood. The school district was the deciding factor for us. No regrets at all.

We moved from Garrison Woods to Saddle Ridge last year and it was the best decision. Quieter, more green space, and our property taxes are actually lower. lol
Cheers!

The sense of community in Wolf Willow is something special. We have block parties, neighborhood clean-ups, and everyone knows each other by name. You don't get that everywhere.
